In My Cart
I ordered this carry-on for my trip to Dallas. Nothing wrong with any of my current luggage, I just thought this one look chic and has some cool features; pop out drink holder, locking wheels, hook for small shopping bag, wide set handle for more storage inside. I loved it for the trip!
Ordering this candle ASAP; I smelled in during a trip to Dallas a few months ago and when I visited this week I was quickly reminded how much I love it.
Things I’m eyeing on Shopbop
This new dry shampoo I got during the Sephora sale. OMG it smells AMAZING.
Finally got my hands on this makeup brush I’ve seen everywhere and I LOVE it.
The perfect cotton tank (also here) – I took an XS
This sweatshirt & shorts combo in milkweed heather. Hello comfy weekends.
My new favorite denim shacket. Sized up to a medium for a relaxed fit.
Yes this is a makeup bag, but it looks like the perfect hold everything for your tote or essentials you need to have in your car.
I’ve been considering this in the black burl for the bay windows in our living room.
Exploring Nashville
Dinner at The Iberian Pig: modern Spanish tapas with expansive selections of imported cheeses and cured meats
Dinner at Santo: fresh and healthy Mediterranean. The pesto pasta and french fries are a favorite
Lunch & Brunch at Restoration Hardware: between the atmosphere & the food, I can’t decide which I love more. But maybe the food bc those truffle fries…
Brunch & Dinner at Culaccino: modern Italian at its finest. Grab a seat at the bar and make sure to get the lamb pizza
Apps at Culamare (formally Bestia Mare): A sister restaurant to Culaccino but with a focus on seafood. Don’t skip on the scallops
Shopping at Cultheir showroom during one of their open to the public sales. I got the coolest antique wood bench
Shopping & MAYSON the label pop-up at Emerson Grace.
Shopping & a fun floral arrangement class at Kirna Zabete
Prabal Gurung fashion show at the Nashville Symphony
What I'm Watching / Reading / Listening to
Watching: So many good shows right now! Palm Royal (Apple TV+) I’m watching this one solo. The costumes are amazing and its just such a fun watch. I think Kristen Wigg is just incredible in her role. Sugar (Apple TV+) Will and I are both watching and caught up. Modern day detective show with Colin Farrel and Holly Flax, I mean Amy Ryan (IYKYK). The Gentlemen (Netflix) Will and I are both watching this and its SO SO good. Its a Guy Ritchie film and if you watched White Lotus season 2 you’ll recognize the lead role. I could go into so much detail on all of these, but just trust me, they are amazing.
Reading: I started reading Wear It Well by Allison Bornstein during my flight to Dallas and its just such a good and easy read on discovering and defining your personal style. Use the viral Three-Word Method to discover and define your personal style. Curate your closet with the AB Closet-Editing System, eliminating items that don’t fit or work for your lifestyle to build a safe and inspiring space that is filled with only clothes that bring you joy, confidence, and empowerment
Listening: Well, because I listened to Sara & Erin Foster’s podcast interviewing Allison, I promptly ordered above book. Other than that I’m just cycling through my playlists on Spofity and Pandora (yes I still use Pandora).
At Home with FJ
There isn’t much “newness” to show with the house right now. We are in some of the beginning stages of updates, so visually nothing to share. This week we are getting new landscaping installed. Our yard kind of went to sh!t with the harsh winter and we had plants in locations that weren’t thriving so a massive overhaul was needed. We are also getting some more cabinets installed in our pantry and replacing the gold shelves with wood towers to match the rest of the kitchen. The gold shelves just felt too glam and I need more storage and function. We confirmed the renderings this week, so install will prob be in about 2-3 months.
One thing that has been on my list for at least a month are the living room curtains. You might remember I shared these from Amazon in March(?) and while I love them, I decided to raise the curtain rod to be closer to the ceiling and make the room feel taller. Well that means I had to order new curtains, and I was able to get the exact kind as before, but I have to get them hemmed now. So that will prob happen in 97 years haha. But really its on the list because it just looks so good already with only one panel hanging.
Recent Travels
Mid-month I flew to San Diego for barely 24 hours. I had a MAYSON pop-up event at A Line boutique in their new Carlsbad location. It was so fun to meet new shoppers and share the line! Definitely check out A Line if you haven’t already. Since it was such a quick trip, there isn’t much to share in terms of what I did. My dad picked me up from the airport, I quickly changed from comfy clothes into this outfit for the event. We grabbed coffee at Lofty Coffee and then I went to the store. After that we had dinner at our favorite sushi spot, Glass Box. Their salmon sashimi is butter and I swear I could just live off that haha. But it was really great to just have some quality time one-on-one with my dad before leaving early the next day.
Yesterday I got home from a few days in Dallas. It was one of my best friends birthdays so I wanted to be there to celebrate with her, shoot some outfits with Becca, and of course hit up some of my favorite eateries. Wednesday went straight from the airport to a leisurely lunch at Hudson House in Lakewood. Don’t sleep on the burger or the pressed sushi! That night I had dinner with my girlfriends Emma & Whitney at Green Point Seafood & Oyster Bar. We shared the warm crab & artichoke dip, ceviche, and I had the lobster roll. It did not disappoint. Thursday was a busy work day, so we got Mi Cocina to go. I love their steak nachos al carbone. Friday was a fun girls day. Liz and I took Ashley to lunch at Honor Bar (shocking) and then had fun shopping and walking around Highland Park Village. Finally got to see the new Loewe and Chanel boutiques. We also popped in Market, Celine, Foundrae, The Conservatory, & Cartier. It was the perfect girls day.

Q: Hi Amy! I bought the pants and the black asymmetrical one-shoulder top from Nordstrom you posted, but the top is personally too cropped for me however I love the look. Do you have any other similar tops you can recommend?
A: Yes! Here is the original outfit for readers to reference. This one, this one, this one, this one, and this one are all great alternatives.
Q: Which two sneakers are you loving right now? I'm looking for a new pair and would appreciate some input, thank you!
A: I love the new adidas sambas I featured in the Spring Capsule. The light neutral color is perfection. I also still love my Loewe sneakers. The exact color isn't available anymore, but this white pair is on my list!
Q: I love your tan! What product (if any) did you use?
A: I have been loyal to Loving Tan for yearssss. I like the dark 2 hour express. Make sure to wash off after 2 hours or it will get you REAL dark (unless that's what you're going for!) I follow up during the week with Loving Tan lotion which is a new-to-me product. It smells incredible. For my face I use Tan-Luxe drops with my moisturizer at night 1-2 times a week.
Q: Where is your key bowl from?
A: Etsy! I love this bowl so much I have it in 2 sizes in the house. For the key bowl at the entry I'm using the 12" diameter. The quality is SO good especially for the price!
Q: Is your diamond tennis necklace real, or like Dorsey? I'm looking for one.
A: You'll never guess but its Amazon! I'm so impressed with how good it looks in person. I have the 16" and its great. For larger purchases like this, I like to test the waters and get something more opening price point to see if I would actually wear enough to justify the real deal. I've worn a ton and its holding up just fine for now!
